Hello, my visa is about to expire (single entry) and im heading to Laos for a few days to get a 60 day tourist visa. I‘Ve been staying with my Dad and his wife who lives in Thailand. My question is - is it better (easier) to use a hotel address or is the address where I’ve been staying just the same? Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether to use a hotel address or the address of their father and his wife in Thailand when applying for a 60-day tourist visa from Laos. Comments suggest it is acceptable to use the family address, but also recommend having supporting documents like a note from the family along with their identification for the visa application. Additionally, reminders about strict requirements for the visa application and extension options for their current visa were provided.

Btw, did you already get a 30 day extension on your current visa? You're eligible for one, 1900 baht at the immigration office serving your area.

I did yes. I came in august with the 1 month exempt (I think that’s what it is?) and 3 weeks in I went to Vietnam for a week. I came back to Thailand, they stamped me again for 30 days and then I got a 30 day extension. Planning to go to Laos next week for a week and then come back to Thailand again. Any issues with this

are you applying for the Thai tourist visa in Laos? Or doing a BORDER BOUNCE to get a NEW 30 day STAMP? Which can be extended one time 30 days at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

I was going to apply for a Thai tourist visa… is it easier/better to just do a border bounce instead? I’m planning on getting an education visa in the next month or so.

I Suggest you do a BORDER BOUNCE this time. You are allowed a maximum of 2 LAND BORDER BOUNCE entries into Thailand EACH CALENDAR YEAR. As this is November you can do a Land BORDER BOUNCE soon as you like and it will get you a new 30 day stamp and it can be extended for 30 days at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

Thereby saving the New Thai tourist visa for NEXT year.

Suggest you ask your local experienced border run service company to take you to the Thai border, cross and re-enter Thailand same day. Google it Border Run from Xxxx City in Thailand

it's the difference of filling out an application, meeting all the requirements and paying. Then waiting until the next day for them to issue your visa.

Or border bounce is stamp out of Thailand, stamp into Laos, turn around and stamp out of Laos and return to Thailand for a new 30 day visa exempt which you can extend for 30 days again.

Be aware if using the Vientiane embassy they have very strict requirements to obtain even a tourist visa. You also need to book an appointment online. Visit their website, prepare everything as required and you'll get your visa.

You can use the Address of where you are staying in Thailand. IF it's with your Father and his wife...have a simple note to say that you are invited to stay with your family in Thailand. Signed by both Father and his wife. With a signed copy of his passport photo Page and wife's too...if Thai, submit a signed copy of theirThai 🆔 card.
