In terms of hassle and possibly different requirements is it better to get a non immigrant O A retirement visa outside of Thailand or an O visa inside Thailand? I am American.

I can't figure it out but my friends here said getting it in Thailand was better because of less paperwork and no insurance requirements for O when applying in Thailand. I don't know what to do.
