Is it advisable to follow up with the Royal Thai Embassy about my Non-Immigrant B visa application?

Hi everyone, I need a little advice

I applied for a Thai Non-Immigrant B visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing, and my status changed to “Pending Approval” on January 29. My work is supposed to start on March 1, so I’m honestly starting to get a bit nervous about the timing.

I hold a passport from a country neighboring China, and I’m not sure if that affects the processing time or not.

Do you think it would be okay to send a follow-up email to the embassy?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has applied for a Thai Non-Immigrant B visa and is concerned about the pending status as their start date for work approaches. They are considering sending a follow-up email to the embassy for an update on their application.

It would help if you specified the passport you hold and your location. Are you currently in China and do you hold a residence permit in an area covered by the Beijing embassy? I believe both are necessary to apply at that consulate
