Hello All

I entered Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ on a E-visa from England which Iv now done my 2 months and also extended it at the local immigration office so Iโ€™m on my last few days now and Iโ€™m needing another 20 or so days before my flight โœˆ๏ธ back home which is already booked.I was wondering can I go out at Nong Khai friendship bridge boarder then travel to the airport fly back into Bangkok getting a standard tourist entry.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether they can exit Thailand at the Nong Khai border and return on a standard tourist visa to extend their stay. Comments suggest that it depends on their visa history over the past year and advise caution regarding the number of recent entries. Notably, from November 2025, visa-free entries will be limited to two times per calendar year to curb repeated visa runs.

From November 2025, visa-free entry (visa run) to Thailand will be limited to a maximum of 2 times per calendar year, regardless of whether it is via land borders, sea or air. This measure is intended to stop repeated "visa runs" to extend stays without the correct visa.

Depends a lot on your recent travel history and number of times you have entered Thailand recently..

Good luck ๐Ÿ‘

If you have no recent history in Thailand prior to your tourist visa entry you should be fine

It depends on your complete visa-exempt stay history of the recent one-year period. If you haven't done cmulative visa-exempt entries, you would be good to go this one more time. But remember it all depends on the discretion of the Immigration officer you are standing in front of. Avoid entry booths manned with female officers! And hold ready to show passport, your outbound ticket and the boarding card, and be prepared to show proof of cash equivalent 20,000 THB just in case you get pulled aside
