TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users have reported mixed experiences regarding the use of an Airbnb address in the DTV application for Thailand. While some confirm that using Airbnb is acceptable and have had successful applications, others warn that certain embassies may not allow it and recommend making refundable hotel bookings instead. The notion that Airbnb is banned for short-term stays in Thailand also raises concerns. Overall, it appears that individuals have had varying degrees of acceptance based on the embassy and the specific circumstances of their applications.

Depends on the embassy, seems some are okay some are not. The embassy I applied at specifically mentioned that Airbnbs were not allowed. I made a refundable hotel booking and submitted the hotel address instead. And they did ask for proof of the booking.

No problem at all. When I applied, I used an Airbnb for the application and it was approved. Later, I lived there for almost a full year before getting a regular condo contract myself.

Airbnb is banned in Thailand for *short-term stay. Why risk it? You can put any hotel, resort, apartment, condo details you wish. Booking, agoda, trip advisor everything else works fine.

Yes, it's fine for the application! Just keep it refundable.

Where you intend to stay is not a crucial data point. You can put almost anything in there.
