Question: I will travel on a TR visa (60 days + 30 days extension). Will it be ok if I have my return flight ticket after 88 days when I come to Thailand, even though the TR visa is for 60 days initially?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question concerns the acceptability of having a return flight 88 days after arrival in Thailand on a TR visa, which allows a stay of 60 days plus a possible 30-day extension. Responses vary, with some suggesting that the return flight should ideally match the 60-day visa limit, while others recount personal experiences where having a ticket beyond 60 days was not an issue. Key factors mentioned include airline policies, immigration officer discretion, and the possibility of changing the flight once in Thailand after obtaining a visa extension.

I had a TR60 visa and had a ticket to return 90 days knowing I was extending the 30 days . Nothing was said. Came from Sydney, Australia

Great, thank you!

Your issue will be getting the Thailand Pass and boarding the flight rather than entering the country.

You can apply for the STV which will last 90 days

Well thank you but that was not my question. It's too late to change my visa.

normally if your TR visa is for 60 days your return flight should be within 60 days. Once your in Thailand you can extend your visa and change return flight to suit. In uk they are not offering TR only STV which allows you to stay upto 90 days

I asked the consulate in Frankfurt and they basically said it depends on the immigration officer.

My last trip I had my return ticket 90 days out and had no issue, I have the same this trip and just got my visa…..if there was an issue I’d just buy a ticket on the spot

Well I don't think you can buy a ticket on the spot at Bangkok immigration.

If you do it on your phone, my experience is that it can take a couple of hours to receive the actual ticket document.

if you already have your visa with the flights it should be an issue, and most of the flights I do I get the booking confirmation in 10-15 minutes.

Depends on the airline. Safest bet would be to have a return ticket within the 60 days.

No. Your flight onward/returning flight must be in accordance with the TR visa.
