Hi, Is it currently necessary to have an exit ticket when entering Thailand? Someone may have recently entered from Vietnam, Cambodia, or another neighboring country. We're talking about a DTV visa.
Answer summary
Currently, it is not a requirement to have an exit ticket when entering Thailand on a DTV visa. However, some airlines may still request to see a return or onward ticket at check-in. Many travelers have reported different experiences; for instance, while some were not asked for an exit ticket when entering, others faced scrutiny and had to show proof or purchase a ticket to satisfy airline staff.

At Phuket I was pulled aside because I didn’t have an exit flight, would have been fine if I had payslips for my job but I didn’t so had to buy an exit flight. You still get the 180 days.
Came from Vietnam about a week ago, was asked how long I planned on staying this time (DTV) and if I had a flight booked. I did so just showed it but not sure what they would’ve done if I didn’t as it’s obviously not a requirement… connecting flight immigration desks at Suvarnabhumi, whole thing took about 20 minutes and the lady was pretty rude, then got stamped in for another 6 months by her colleague
