you need to talk to the immigration office you're getting the extension at. They can give you just a 7 day extension if you already had one 30 day extension on another entry

WittyBee5253 we've seen several interpretations... suggest you use the recent 12 months vs current year for your guidance.

And it's best to get the correct Thai Visa for your planned repeated stays in Thailand. You are no longer considered a tourist by Thai Immigration officers with many entries and extensions.

it is totally up to the immigration officer you're in front of, extensions are not guaranteed and if they think you're abusing visa exempt or tourist visa entries they can elect to give you 7 day extension.

is this a particular rule for SETVs, or for visa exemptions? Before the 60 day visa exemption, I extended in 2023 my visa exempt entries twice, by 30 days each entry.

The SETV grants you 60 days on entry, and you can extend by 30, but I wasn't aware they can choose to give you a 7 day extension if you managed to return on another SETV.

there for a while they were really cracking down on people who were "living here" (staying long term) via visa exempt or tourist visa entries and they could at their discretion decide to issue just a 7 day extension if you'd already had one 30 day extension on a previous entry this year
