My 30 days visa expemt stay would run out on the 11th this month and I wish to extend for another 30 days. Can I go to the immigration office first thing in the morning when they open up on the 12th? Or do I have to go tomorrow or on the 11th the latest.

Would help if I could go on the 12th as I would be in Trat and could use the Laem Ngob office instead of dealing with the Bangkok office.

Thank you for your advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a 30-day extension on the 12th; however, you will incur an overstay penalty since your visa exemption expires on the 11th. It's advisable to apply before your current visa expires to avoid the fine.

As a side note, you can only use an office where you have a TM30 filed, you can't just pick and choose.

Thank you. I have accommodation booked in both BKK (10-11th of July) and Trat, (12th) if I understand correctly they can provide me with the necessary paperwork?

but possibly on the 12th your TM30 in the system would still be Bangkok

yep, that'd work fine, just tell where you're staying when you check in that you need a TM30 printed out

You can go to the immigration office to apply for a 30-day tourism extension on the 12th morning, but as your stamp is until the 11th, you will get the overstay stamp and pay the fine of 500 baht for overstay for one day.

11th is the last day you can apply for it without overstaying.

Go tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, not to plan overstay. The new "until" date is the same regardless of the day you apply for it as a tourism extension will be added to the current stamp.
