Can anyone please let me know if it is required to have a PJ (job passport) for a Myanmar citizen to be able to receive work visa? I am currently on ED visa and it will expire by end of November (very soon). I got a job offer and the organization is asking me to change my PE (education passport I got here in Myanmar embassy BKK) to a PV (visit passport) or PJ so that they can help me with securing a work visa (Non O type). I heard from a Burmese saying that I just need to have a work visa and no need to change my passport to get that visa. Is that true? Given the lengthy process of getting another passport type back in Myanmar is the last option I want to choose, if anyone can help share me info and/or reliable source of contact who can help me with my case, please let me know and I do appreciate it!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a work visa (Non-O type) in Thailand, a Myanmar citizen is not required to change their passport to a PJ (job passport). The requirement for a PJ passport primarily applies to those under a specific Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) process for contracted jobs. As long as the employment offer pertains to a white-collar job, it is not mandatory to change the passport type just for visa purposes.

You are right that you dont need to change your passport unless some emoloyer ask to do. This is how MM authorities want to do but nothing to do with your emoloyer in Thailnd. Mandatory requirements of PJ passport to apply work permit us specifically for those who has contracted under MOU process.
As long as you are white color job offered you, not mandatory to change your pp at this stage.
