I am currently here on an extension based on retirement ( non immigrant o)

I realise I am not allowed to work.

If I was offered a legit job, is it possible to change my visa in order to obtain a work permit?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are currently in Thailand on a Non-Immigrant O visa based on retirement and receive a legitimate job offer, you can change your visa to obtain a work permit. This process typically requires assistance from your prospective employer, who will need to provide the necessary documentation for you to apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa at a Thai Consulate or Embassy.
