TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation addresses the legal implications for Myanmar citizens holding a PJ passport in Thailand while on a tourist visa. It highlights that working in Thailand on a tourist visa is illegal, emphasizing the necessity of having the appropriate labor-approved (LA) visa and a work permit. Discussants inform that those who transition from a labor-approved status to a tourist visa must first cancel their work permits and visas, and that returning to Myanmar might be required if their employment ceases.

If a burmese has a PJ passport and is working here in thailand they'll have both an LA <- (labour approved) visa AND a work permit. They'd have to cancel those before they could apply for a 60 day covid extension.

Not sure what you mean? You can not legally work in Thailand with a tourist visa. If you have a Myanmar migrant work permit, you must return to Myanmar if you are no longer working, unless the job you are working on stopped temporarily because of covid, or the camp you are living in is quarantined. You can not change to a tourist visa inside Thailand.
