I just want to be sure somebody pick up the pieces and stitch them together if needed...

have self insured 16 years. Total medical costs for whole time has been less than these new insurance co's 1 month premium.

'Insurance companies skyrocket costs and provide you zero care'

They dont pay hospitals on time and force reduced rate. Hospitals dont want or like insur co's.

Go to hospital, negotiate with doctor.

If bad accident, it’s 60 000 THB per day in private hospitals. When insurance stop, they send to government hospital. And it’s not free for farangs. They invoice later. Where ever you are.

Watch these .. er .. agents ..

WHAT !

have been her long time and been to most hospitals for self or visit friends.

60,000. is some insurance co salesman trying to scare and con you.

Even the finest are 3000.

Govt 500.

Sounds about right, many companies wont even issue health insurance to over 70's

Would have been much easier if you had given this some thought a year ago. No insurance needed

Thanks Todd - I agree that you should not travel without insurance but not clear on - "would have been much easier if you had given this some thought a year ago. No insurance needed".....I do not understand...

@Todd ********
you should never travel with out insurance
Todd *********
I just meant that if you had entered the country then, there was no requirement for the 100k covid insurance. The policy now is a fairly recent change in Thailand entry policy.

better yet, don't need it. Insurance is all about risk mitigation and cost sharing. Choose wisely. Insurance companies would not exist if they didn't make money on the deal. They prey on our fears and their statistical knowledge.

maybe so but you don't want to be left in limbo if you have an accident

Wil cost you alot more I. The long run inside Thailand if you do

yes, agreed for sure. I have been travelling full time for last 91 months, sometimes i have policy in force, sometimes not. I pay cash if any small things needed. Which is generally extremely inexpensive. A major catastrophe, and i would have bigger problems. But my estate would get the bill lol

@To**
- can you please explain ??

It will probably turn out to be insurance that you really can only use for Visa's

I have a policy with Pacific Cross with the same coverage, plus $100,000 Covid cover. It costs me about $300 a month. I am 71.

I think it's mint you even got offered a quote at all! Take it... But read the fine print. It probably says "if you're 70 we'll sell it to you, but you can't claim after your 69th birthday".

@Troy ******
pretty close to true.

Everyone will take your money , few give it back.

In Thailand....

Well, your find out.

Is it one of the official TGIA companies? price seems ok, not much value for money.
