After some research / all of your feedback I’m going to just get a tourist visa 60 day . uS passport , never overstayed . I was there last year for 6 months , got back 4 months ago . Was on visa exemption, 2 extensions one border run. Had a work contract but didn’t workout. Now in Vietnam, applying for tourist visa. Thanks for the feedback.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has decided to apply for a 60-day tourist visa after receiving feedback and conducting their own research. They have a US passport, have never overstayed their visa, and previously visited Thailand for six months on a visa exemption, which included two extensions and one border run. Current discussions touch on the changes in immigration policy, suggesting that the tourist visa is a safer option due to potential complications with entry, especially given the user's prior lengthy stay.

I think Yr right, with 2 extensions and a border run, a Tourist visa is definitely the safer way to go this year. Do you live in Vietnam? Are you planning further longer trips to Thailand... maybe work related? The Immigration situation has certainly "tightened up".

Perhaps a Non immigrant AO visa could give you more leeway and peace of mind BUT these do not allow you to work there. I'm going on a 60 day visa exempt this year, but then again, I only go once or twice a year, and I'm not expecting complications... but I'm still taking at least 20,000 Bahts lol

Get a visa and go through safe entry. You was in Th 6 months last year. So questioning is expected. And entry refusal even with tourist visa is possibility.
