I want to come to Thailand for a extended holiday… I sold my truck and its time for a holiday too 🙂

How much money do I need to have/month for a good holiday?

Is the country safe?

The police have power?

If make a mistake, they send you to jail or they judge you first?

Easy - don’t put yourself in a position to get extorted. Follow the 72 hour rule. Don’t tell people you just sold your house and have a wad of cash sitting in your bank account. Actually don’t tell anyone here anything until you know you can trust them.

Always remember there are desperate expats here who will also scam or extort you if they think they can get away with it.

I visited an other Asian country and there, the police is corupt and they have “deal with some girls” !

If a girl make a false accusation against a man that the man raped her, the man go to jail WITHOUT TRIAL!!!

There is no bail for this crime so he will stay in jail LONG TIME !!!

Only when the woman withdraws her intention to go to trial, the man is released!!!

It was even a case (on tv ) with an American foreigner who was married with a young girl and after few months, the girl relatives complained to police that the American man raped their daughter!😳 (maybe he didn’t give them ENOUGH MONEY… to support them)

If high-ranking US officials had not intervened, the American man would have rotted in prison!

Don't flash the cash and you won't have problems. This is especially important if you are in a situation where you need to pay tea money to "resolve" an issue. Dress like a cheap charlie expat and you avoid the vast majority of those kind of issues.

All police have power. Yes, if you do something illegal, expect a chance to go to jail. Don’t do something illegal if you don’t want to risk that chance

Very safe. If it wasn’t, how come there are lots and lots of tourists and immigrants here day by day and year by year. Fear wouldn’t get you anywhere. The amount of $ to bring totally depends on you. Minimum 2-300k thb would be optimal. But still totally up to you.
