Can I use my savings as proof of income for a DTV Soft Power visa in Thailand?

Soft Power and proof of income 🤔

Hello everyone, just a quick question please. I am 20 and wish to apply in Italy.

I would like to apply for DTV Soft Power (Muay Thai) but I noticed that many embassies are starting to ask for proof of income / how you will support yourself in Thailand.

I have a work in my home country, but it’s not remote so clearly if I choose to go to Thailand for 6 months on DTV I won’t be able to continue that work.

However, I have 800-900K baht in my bank account (maybe 1 million at the day of application) and honestly my answer to “how you’ll support yourself” would be savings at this point.

Is that okay? Can I get accepted saying savings in my cover letter? Do you have any tips to maximise the chances of getting the visa?

Thanks! ❤️🙌

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about applying for a DTV Soft Power visa in Thailand for Muay Thai training but is concerned about proving income, as they cannot continue their current job while abroad. They have savings of around 800-900K baht and ask if stating this in their cover letter would suffice for visa approval. Responses suggest that savings can be acceptable, but verification of legitimacy and additional documentation may enhance their application chances.

Savings will do it the income is incase you dont have the 500k baht saved up fully and you have the income to off set it - most people just do the savings amount income verification deals with alot more steps and paperwork

if you cannot show 500k in a bank account your application will be refused. There is no income off set.

thank you very much!

Can I ask what documents did you submit? Did the embassy ask for any additional documents?

Thanks 🙌

the ones required by the website. I don’t remember exactly. muaythai documents, bank account, passport etc. the embassy addittionally asked for the plane ticket, which I had already sent. but they asked for it again. who knows why.

Your 20 years old how is Thailand going to benefit your future if you don’t know where your income is coming from your shouldn’t move there use your capital and start a business then move in 3-5 years when your income is consistent

I am in the same situation. I listed myself as unemployed on the application (soft power MT). They asked me to show proof of how I earned the money/proof that the money was legitimate. As well they asked how I was planning to support myself past the initial 6mo. I wrote a letter explaining my what my employment was (I work based on contracts in the US) and I sent them 6mo of Pay stubs from my last contract. I was accepted in HCMC

You need 500k baht for the application leaving around 400k baht savings. Nowhere near enough for the 5 years duration of the visa. Really they want to see ongoing income when they ask that question
