Hello everyone, just a quick question please. I am 20 and wish to apply in Italy.
I would like to apply for DTV Soft Power (Muay Thai) but I noticed that many embassies are starting to ask for proof of income / how you will support yourself in Thailand.
I have a work in my home country, but itâs not remote so clearly if I choose to go to Thailand for 6 months on DTV I wonât be able to continue that work.
However, I have 800-900K baht in my bank account (maybe 1 million at the day of application) and honestly my answer to âhow youâll support yourselfâ would be savings at this point.
Is that okay? Can I get accepted saying savings in my cover letter? Do you have any tips to maximise the chances of getting the visa?
Thanks! â¤ď¸đ

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on applying for a DTV Soft Power visa to train in Muay Thai in Thailand. They have significant savings but are unsure if this can be used as proof of income, as they won't have remote work while in Thailand. Comments provide mixed experiences: some confirm that savings can be sufficient, while others emphasize the importance of demonstrating ongoing income or legitimate sources for the funds.
Iâm planning to apply in Italy too please let us know how it goes once you are done! Good luck

Savings will do it the income is incase you dont have the 500k baht saved up fully and you have the income to off set it - most people just do the savings amount income verification deals with alot more steps and paperwork

the ones required by the website. I donât remember exactly. muaythai documents, bank account, passport etc. the embassy addittionally asked for the plane ticket, which I had already sent. but they asked for it again. who knows why.

Your 20 years old how is Thailand going to benefit your future if you donât know where your income is coming from your shouldnât move there use your capital and start a business then move in 3-5 years when your income is consistent

I am in the same situation. I listed myself as unemployed on the application (soft power MT). They asked me to show proof of how I earned the money/proof that the money was legitimate. As well they asked how I was planning to support myself past the initial 6mo. I wrote a letter explaining my what my employment was (I work based on contracts in the US) and I sent them 6mo of Pay stubs from my last contract. I was accepted in HCMC

You need 500k baht for the application leaving around 400k baht savings. Nowhere near enough for the 5 years duration of the visa. Really they want to see ongoing income when they ask that question
