I am applying for a NON-IMMIGRATION TYPE O RETIREMENT VISA from the UK and it asks to show income of 65000 a month for 3 months OR a current balance of 800000. If I apply using the current balance route how long would the 800000 have to have been in your account for ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a NON-IMMIGRATION TYPE O Retirement Visa from the UK using the current balance method, there are mixed opinions on how long the 800,000 baht should be in your account. Some users suggest that showing it for just a month may be sufficient, while others recommend merging three months of statements to demonstrate stability. Importantly, it's clarified that the 800,000 baht requirement is relevant for extension purposes after you arrive in Thailand, not strictly for the overseas application.

I recently applied for mine (non o visa) in the UK. I provided bank statement dating back to 3 months proving UK equivalent to 800k baht. I actually had more in the account. My visa came through within less than a week

Just check the requirements here

The 800,000 or 65,000 you are referring to is for the EXTENSION of the Non O visa you will need to show once in Thailand, NOT when applying from overseas.

I tell you what I don’t understand is why people like you give out information that is totally opposite to what everyone else gives. I give up 🤦

It doesn’t say I NEED 800,000 baht, it says I need to prove that I have earnings of 65,000 a month (showing at least 3 months bank statements) OR have at least 800,000 baht in a bank account

I give up! What is it that you guys don’t understand? 😂

And by the way I think you’re wrong about that. Yes you need that information for the EXTENSION but you also need it for the initial entry visa. Once you are in Thailand on that Visa you can apply for the EXTENSION.

I feel very sorry for you then if that said website tells you that you need 800,000 Baht to apply for a Non O from The UK.

The very same website told me something completely different when I applied for mine 18 months ago…

I think you must have gotten your wires crossed somewhere…
