Can a UK citizen apply for a DTV Workation visa in Thailand with less than 3 months of bank statements?

Quick question: I’m a UK citizen on a remote working contract, I have all of the required documents to apply for a DTV Workation visa, but I’ve only had the required money in my bank account for about 1 month. I’ve seen comments from people saying it should be three months, but I’ve not been able to locate any official information regarding this. I’m wondering if anyone from the UK has successfully obtained a DTV visa recently by showing less than 3 months bank statements?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses whether a UK citizen can apply for a DTV Workation visa with only one month of bank statements showing the required funds. While some commenters share experiences of successfully obtaining the visa with less than the typically suggested three months of funds, there are varying opinions based on different embassy requirements. There's also mention of using agencies to ease the application process without needing to demonstrate the full funding. Overall, it seems that while three months is advised at some embassies, others may accept a shorter period, particularly in London.

One of the best agencies and experiences completely DFY

My balance showed equivalent 500,000 THB on 19 November, I’m thinking of submitting my application on 5 January, it’s not 3 months but as it spans 3 months hopefully it will be ok.

I’ll also give my remote working contract, payslips and employer Ltd Company info just for good measure.

What evidence was provided for being in the UK? Currently utility bill?

they will take a utility bill or driving license. I gave them a utility bill. The statements have two purposes- showing you have the 500k at the end, but also showing your income over the period. This latter bit is what they want the three months for. I submitted invoices and then highlighted the corresponding amounts paid in in the statements. I only had 500k at the end, not for the full three months.

I had the balance summary same day as I applied only in my Revolut travel account. And 3months of my daily current account (where my wages go)which never had the required amount in. It was accepted as that. The fact is you need to have that amount in your account at the time of applying. There was one post recently where the UK embassy had requested someome to show 30days but others like myself have done it where the money had been same day/same week. Tips for your documents make sure your remote working contract is highlighted, use companies house gov website and take a screenshot of its ltd status, if you can get your manager/director to write a letter to say they are aware and accept that you will be working from Thailand specifically that has been beneficial for some. Proof of current address you can use a utility or driving license. It may also be useful to write a cover letter explaining your evidence as well as stating you are aware of and will abide by all Kingdom laws as well as your intentions of visiting Thailand like plans etc. Good Luck 👍

That's the basic criteria, should be more detailed. This forum has 100s of posts from London applicants so you can get tips from them.

London wanted 3 months and asked for proof of a flight. Got my DTV last month. And I used an agency.

That would be the agency telling you 3 months not London. Agents use the 3-month mark unnecessarily to increase the illusion of difficulty obtaining the DTV and reliance on an agent, Vast majority of UK applicants as posted approved with deposits of 1hr -1month,

that means they want statements for three months. The money doesn't have to be there for three months, which is what OP was asking. So it's actually the opposite of what you are suggesting. Also "e.g." means "for example" - these are examples of what is required. You don't need a sponsor letter if you have the bank statements.

Okay, if you say so.

Can he appeal if the Thai Embassy has another way of reading and using your statement?

I got my DTV from London and I didn't have 500k for three months, only at the end. As did many others in this thread, and countless other threads on what London requires. I haven't seen anything suggesting they need the 500k there for three months.

They want the three months to corroborate your claimed income, it should show the money coming in corresponding with invoices/payslips.

Yep, I see.

The London Embassy does not ask for 3 months, only a one time showing or the money;

4. Financial evidence: amount of no less than £11,000 (500,000 THB)

I was approved in the last few weeks via London and I met the fund requirements on the last statement only. Months 1-2 and beginning of 3 I was not quite there, but by the end of month 3 I had the funds.

You should be fine.

Good luck!
