Can I work remotely in Thailand on a tourist visa, or should I wait until I return to Poland for my DTV application?

I'm currently in Thailand on tourist visa and want come back next month to my country - Poland and apply for dtv digital nomad.

I will start my work remotely in next week:

Can this be a problem if I start working while being in Thailand or I am overthinking?or maybe better start work when I will be back in Poland but them I will have agreement only for one week...

Does someone has example of statement which my employee must fulfil ?

Can they ask about my bank statement from few months or only current month?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a tourist visa and is considering starting remote work before returning to Poland to apply for a digital nomad visa. The discussion highlights that working remotely on a tourist visa is legally prohibited and can result in serious consequences, including visa denial or deportation. Participants offer insights on the documents required for the digital nomad visa application, including potentially needing bank statements from previous months and a letter from the employer allowing remote work from Thailand. Overall, the consensus is to wait until returning to Poland to start work to avoid legal risks.

Tourist do tourist things only.

Working is strictly forbidden, and can lead to deportation, quarantine to return to Thailand for years, rejection of visa application.

Your should really do a much better research.

@Henrik ****
thank You very much.

This is my research because I can't have any information from my embassy

Ah, and they can ask virtually for anything - including 6 months bank statements. It just depends how convincing for them you are. If they see you're not sincere they will ask for a proof of any detail.

Legally, you're not allowed to work remotely on a tourist visa / exemption. It's a grey zone. The green zone for remote work is DTV visa.

Anonymous participant If you are starting a new company, without proven experience with customers outside of Thailand, likely will be DENIED the DTV Visa.

Anonymous participant FYI... I am one of the Moderators on Thai Visa Advice forum. This just now was shared by a person who was successful in getting the DTV visa.

And on this forum too:

I just got my DTV eVISA approved and sent to my email (PDF). Valid from
*****
/2025 to
*****
/2030!!!

Do I still need to go to the embassy where it got approved to get a sticker on my passport? Any advice on next steps is more than welcomed!!

Process:

1. Applied 29th apr 2025

2. Docs check 30th apr 2025

3. Additional proof requested 2nd may 2025

4. Pending approval 13th may 2025

5. Approved 17th may 2025

Less than 20 days.

Note the ADDED documents requested by the Thai Embassy in Spain in their consideration of the DTV visa application.

"Additional Doc Check List for DTV Approval Spanish Embassy...

Following a post where I shared that my DTV application got approved yesterday and in order to respond to all those who asked me what additional documents the embassy asked me for before approval, see the summary of requirements below:

Requested Documents:

1. Biodata page of your passport

2. Official bank statement issued directly by your bank (via official website or physical branch).

Must include: your full name as account holder, transaction history, and most updated balance.

Note Screenshots are not accepted.

3. Proof of current location in Spain. Examples include: electricity bill, municipal registration certificate (padrón), or rental agreement under your name.

4. Proof of last 3 self-employment payments (autónomo). Official receipts or confirmations of your last three freelance/self-employed tax or social security contributions.

5. Concise overview of your professional activities in Thailand. A short explanation of my business or professional engagements during my stay in Thailand.

Include how you will generate income while residing there.

6. Concrete evidence of your job. Documents that demonstrate and verify your professional status (portfolio, client list, contracts, content, etc.)."

Hopefully you can provide such details with your new startup company.
