Can I cross the land border from Thailand to Vientiane for a visa run if I've already crossed twice this year with a German passport?

Hallo, I want to go to Vientienne on Wednesday and do a Visa run. My friend said I will get a 2-months Visa there and can extend that for another month. My only concern is that I will not be allowed to pass the border by land, since I have done so already twice within the Last calendar year in Mae Sai. Any experience on that ? (I have a German passport)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to do a visa run to Vientiane and is concerned about crossing the land border since they have done it twice within the last calendar year. Comments indicate that the 2 land border crossing rule applies only when crossing without a visa. Purchasing a visa will allow for the border crossing.

The rule of maximum 2 land border crossings a calendar year is only when you cross a border without a Visa. If you buy a visa than you can cross wit that visa without any problem.
