How long does it typically take to get a DTV visa for Australia?

Hi all,
I was heading over in a few months but was more organised than I thought so am going to apply tomorrow for my DTV and hope to head over next month…
The website says to apply 3
Months in advance. Was curious if anyone can speak to turn around times in Australia when applying to the embassy in Canberra.
I know the process time or up to 10 working days, I want to know if anyone has had problems in cases where they applied within the suggested 3 month lead time.
With accommodation are they happy with a hotel for the first week while you look for a condo?

The websites don't say apply 3 months in advance. It says apply for travel within the next 3 months.

It's no more than 3 months in advance, that is not the same thing

They don’t need that long. They tend to not issue the visa until closer to your departure date so that the 5 years doesn’t start earlier than necessary. Hotel booking will be fine.
