Hi! This is a great group! Could you share how long did it take to get your METV? Does it take around the same time as SETV? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the processing times for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) compared to the Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV). Responses indicate that the METV may take about the same time as the SETV, with one person mentioning it can take around 5 working days in New Zealand. However, individuals applying from South Korea mentioned complications, as METVs may not be issued there for Korean applicants. Factors such as the method of application (in-person vs. mailing) also potentially affect processing times.

I will go in person. No, there is no information. I just can't believe that it takes about same time as SETV and should take not more than 1 week. It's South Korea and they don't issue METV for Koreans as I know.

@La***
, you can get that one early because you only get ONE entry on it. From the day they issue it until you have 90 days to enter the country to get a 60 day stamp.

The METV one is the one you need to get close to when you're comin' to get the most out of the 6 months it's valid for.

Is it the single that you can get early? I've forgotten about those visas sense this lovely chap helped me get a non o ๐Ÿ˜

@La***
, The thing is that visa is valid for entry for 6 months from the date it's ISSUED not the date you enter thailand. If you get it too soon you're just burning up the validity of the visa not being here. :/

you can get your me how many months before you depart? You don't have to leave it to late. Can't remember.

I did find this googling around about the turn around time at the SK thai consulate;

The visa consular section of the Thai embassy in Seoul is open from 9 am to 12 ... 3 days from the time you drop off your passport to the time your visa is ready.

I do appreciate your job as admin of this group. Anyway, back to the topic. In most cases it should not take longer than one week from the date of application to get METV? Because it's important to get METV closer to date of your departure.

Feathers? Panties probably a better word.

I meant no disrespect :) , and good on you for being able to tick the boxes to get a 6 month METV in South Korea.

You have to realize that many many people post on this group and I try to head off misunderstandings about things before hand..

Sorry, I did not mean to ruffle your feathers. ;)

Tod, I can see through all this group's threads you're very helpfull and this group is really great source. Thank you. I feel that you have to deal here with people who don't search information before posting. Otherwise I don't understand why you think I am a newbie. As I mentioned, SK is country of my residence and I have a alien registration card.

I think you're mistaken, The thai consulate in South Korea won't issue a 6 month METV to ANYONE who doesn't hold a alien registration card (that lets you live/work in Korea) or to a Korean national.

New Zealand is 5 working day's for either one.
Tod *********
Are you going to turn in your application in person or are you mailing it in? That can affect the turn around time. It doesn't say on the website of the consulate how long it takes?

I apply in the country of my residence. I already contacted the embassy with a list of required documents. Don't want bother them with 3rd call.

I say that because you can't apply for a 6 month METV from a consulate in a country where you don't hold legal residence. That means most people get it before they come here at the thai consulate in their country.

I take it you're applying for it in your own country before you come here right?
