Hi, does anyone know how long does it take at the immigration office to finish the process of converting my visa to non-imm B visa? Due to the limitations of my current visa (studey visa), it’s not capable of changing it to non-imm B visa within the country. So I am thinking about going to Singapore and come back to Thailand with visa exemption, and then immediately go to the immigration office to apply for converting visa. Thanks a lot!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of converting a visa to a Non-Immigrant B visa at the immigration office in Thailand can vary, and it is recommended to apply for the non-B visa from a foreign embassy if leaving the country. Some suggest going to locations like Phnom Penh for shorter visa run processes. It is also important to verify with your employer, as they may assist in the conversion process, especially if a visa exempt status cannot be converted in-country.

Did you talk to your employer yet? Some employers can not convert a visa exempt to a non-B visa in-country

If you have to leave the country Phnom Penh might be a better option. Some outfit is already advertising "visa runs" via air, including all re-entry costs.

It’s a customer service job, the company is an international corporation and is BOI registered, and the salary meets the visa requirements. Yes, I will apply at BKK🙏🏻

If you're going to leave the country then apply for the non b visa at a foreign embassy and come in with that for 90 days. Before the 90 days is up, apply for the one year extension.

thank you, I am actually also considering about it, but seems the documents that they require are more complicated, as I saw on the website, I have to provide the insurance for 1 year when applying for Non imm B visa at Singapore
