How long does it take for a DTV application to be approved after uploading additional documents in HCMC?

Hello everyone,

I’m a German digital nomad / content creator. I submitted my DTV application in HCMC and received a request for additional documents on Monday 16:32 (last week). I uploaded everything the same evening at 21:00.

Since then the status has been stuck on “Pending Document Check” for 8 full working days (today is Thursday).

My documents include:

• Certified English translations + original German bank statements

• Detailed explanation letter (new income, no tax returns yet because still under German threshold)

• Marked TikTok/PayPal transfers

• Full passport, flight ticket, selfies at Marble Mountains + hotel balcony ( da nang)

I know many people wait long, but I’m getting a bit nervous because I have a flight to Thailand at the end of this week.

Has anyone had a similar experience (long pending after Monday evening upload, new income with explanation instead of tax returns, selfies without timestamp) and still got approved?

How long did it take in your case? Did it jump straight from “Pending Document Check” to “Approved”?

If you are in the same batch or had a similar timeline, feel free to DM me or comment – it would be nice to stay updated together, since they often seem to release in batches.

Thank you very much and good luck to everyone waiting! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a German digital nomad's experience with a Thai visa application submitted in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), which has been pending document check for over a week. The user is anxious about the status as they have a flight to Thailand soon. They seek insights from others who may have had a similar experience with their application timeline and what to expect when the status is stuck at 'Pending Document Check.' Comments reflect that others are experiencing long wait times as well, especially with increased application volumes before the Songkran festival.

Right now in HCM your status will be checking documents long time. When your status will change to pending approval, your visa will comes same day or next working day.

For understanding, submit at 12.03, 27.03 status change pending approval at 11:00, same day at 17:40 visa on email.

You can change your flight. Now HCMC are handling super high volume of applications as many people wanna come to Thailand before Songkran
