How long do I need to hold a remote job before applying for a visa to Thailand?

Hi there,

I am thinking of getting a remote job because my income as a freelance might not be enough. How long do I need to hold that job until I can apply for the visa? Not asking if I need to keep it, that seems obvious πŸ˜‰

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a visa to Thailand based on remote work, most consulates require proof of income or salary for the last six months. However, experiences vary by embassy, with some allowing applications without having held the job for long, as long as there are stable income proofs such as portfolios. It’s essential to check the specific requirements of the embassy you will apply to.

Depends on the embassy, Taipei would not accept a contract I was starting very soon as they wanted to see salary payments from submitted contracts.

Long enough to have enough money to pay all your bills in the next 6 years.

You might even think to save a little for old age.

6 months. Most embassy request to see proof of income/salary in last 6 months

I dont think there is a stipulation on how long you have had your job.
