TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for the Non-O visa approximately four weeks before your departure from the UK. The visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, and processing times are generally less than a week. Applications can be completed online through the Thai embassy in London.

The visa will be valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Probably don’t want to apply that early though. Turn around time generally less than a week. Probably 4 weeks out would be ample.

@Stuart ********
one more question if I could does the marriage visa allow multi entry

@Gary ****
just buy a multi entry permit when you are getting your 12 months extension

Actually a yes and no answer. You can get a year long non O that’s valid for a year, that’s multiple entry but you have to leave and re-enter every 90 days. The standard non O issued from overseas is single entry. The non O issued in Thailand is zero entry (you’re already in Thailand). You can buy a reentry permit to allow you to leave and come back. And keep the “admitted” until date alive.

So I just arrive on a tourist 30 days then go to immigration within 21 days of arrival

@Gary ****
No you enter with no visa - called visa exempt and you’ll currently get stamped in for 45 days. At least 21 days before that stamp runs out you apply. Probably better to aim for 30 days to be safer.

@Gary ****
If you have a Thai bank and have funds over here then probably just as easy to do here. Enter exempt and do an in country conversion. You’ll need 21 days left on a valid stamp to apply.
