ORIGINAL POSTER
Applying for an O extension at Cheang Watthana today and was told to come back for this reason:

my visa expires on march 28. I was able to book an appointment for today, the 17th. I got my bank balance up to 800k on January 24, 2 months and a few days to season or so I thought. I did not know 2 months seasoning is calculated back from the day youโ€™re at immigration to ask for an extension, NOT 2 months back from the day your visa expires. I have to go back March 24-28.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user learned that the 2-month seasoning period for their O visa extension is calculated from the date of their appointment with immigration, not from their visa expiration date. They initially believed the funds needed to be shown for two months back from the expiration date, but were informed that they must have the required bank balance seasoned for two months prior to the actual application date. The user plans to return for their visa extension between March 24-28.

Totally correct, always been that way for the seasoning period using banked money method. Your funds need to be seasoned 2 months before you APPLY for your extension.

So showing up today to apply (no matter when your current stamp expires) and you would have had to have the funds banked by about Jan 16th-17th

You're earliest day would probably be the 24th (although because one of the seasoning months only has 28 days they probably would prefer you show up after March 25th)

You will need to get a new bank letter, update the bank book and get them to reprint the 3 month statement (which they can do on the spot) when you go apply
