How does using a guarantor work for the 500,000 THB requirement in Thailand?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has used a guarantor for the 500,000 thb and how it worked out? Do they need to show the last 6 months bank statement and write a letter? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original question concerns the use of a guarantor for the 500,000 THB financial requirement for a visa in Thailand. Responses indicate that typically the funds must be in the applicant's name in a bank account, and initially, showing the bank statement with the required amount is necessary. If the immigration authorities request additional documentation, such as a salary slip from the last six months, they will ask for these after reviewing the initial submission.

Anonymous participant a sponsorship letter is likely to be from your employer stating that your living expenses are covered under contract. Not the same as 500k balance…

Anonymous participant The sponsor can be anyone , friend, relative etc. The relationship needs to be detailed in the letter.

thanks again. The country I am in doesn't offer DTV but bank account is here so wonder how that will work. Maybe print out bank statements, have it notarized and then apply from a different country?

Anonymous participant you have to apply from the country you’re in. If you go to a different country to apply, then you’ll just produce bank accounts from your home country, but they may ask for some additional evidence they are real if they doubt authenticity.
