Do I need to apply for a new Non-O visa or can I just extend my current retirement visa in Thailand?

Basic question on retirement (sorry).

I've got a Non -O visa with a years extension based on retirement from Jomtien (using the 800k in bank route).

When the year is up, do I start again with a new Non-O, then extend that, or just get another years extension on what I have. Thanks.
