How does the appointment system work for Immigration in Thailand, and should I apply for a multi-entry visa now?

Hello everyone, I have two questions today:

1. I heard that now it is possible to take an appointment to go to immigration. How does this work? Can you do it for any procedure you have to do? Personally, after going there last month and getting a first step, I have been asked to go on a precise day next week to get my second stamp with my one year extension (non-immigrant F visa).

1. Does it make any sense to apply for "multi-entry" visa at the moment? In case, can I apply later if the international situation improves?

Thank you very much for your always valuable support. I wish you a good day.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about how the new immigration appointment system operates, specifically regarding a follow-up visit for a one-year extension of a non-immigrant F visa. Additionally, they seek advice on whether applying for a multi-entry visa is sensible at this time, considering the potential changes in the international situation.

Seeing as both of the international airports in Bangkok sell re-entry permits

I would say no, there's not much need to buy one right now.

You can buy a re-entry permit from the immigration office any time you want to AND from the international airports on the day you are flying out

What is the reason you applied for a yearly extension AND what section did you use at Chaengwattana to do it?

ok thank you. How does this actually work? You show at the information desk and they give you a number?

nope, you just make the booking print the confirmation they email to you (which usually ends up in your junk/spam folder) and then you don't even stop at that queue desk when you go out there. You walk straight over to section N-1 and show them the booking for an appointment

should I make one appointment for the whole family (we are three, my husband is also on non-immigrant F and my daughter on non-immigrant O. We always go together at immigration to N1).

We had to make separate appointments for each family member.

(y) you can indeed make an appointment for section N-1 and just show up there 10 minutes or so before that time
