What should I know before renewing our non-immigrant F and O visas in Thailand?

Hello to everyone and thank you for accepting me in the group.

I have a few - maybe naive - questions, as we are soon going to renew our visas (we are a family of three, on non-immigrant F and non-immigrant O visas):

* Do you know if legalized documents with translation into Thai language have unlimited validity? (mine were done at the end of last year, and the originals have, by law, unlimited validity)

* Do you find any utility in going to Cheang Wattana before actually applying for VISA extension, only for having the documents checked by an officer, maybe at the information desk? (I have a young daughter and I would rather go alone first if this might prove useful).

* Can you tell me if I can download online the basic visa application form, the one where you have to put your pictures on it, so that I can prepare them before actually going to immigration?

Thank you very much for your wise comments! Have a good day!

The user seeks advice on visa renewal for a family with non-immigrant F and O visas, including questions on document validity, the utility of pre-application visits to the Cheang Wattana immigration office, and the availability of the visa application form online. The comments provide varied insights, mentioning the necessity for document type assessment, the benefits of visiting immigration beforehand, and directions for obtaining the TM7 form.

- totally depends on what type of documents they are :/

- yes there is a great benefit in going to the immigration office before hand getting the hand out that lists the requirements of your extension and talking to them

- The TM7 (application for extension) is in the file section of the group, OR by a quick google. Print it on one piece of paper front to back. There is an old TM7 form floating around out on the inter-web.

The way you can tell if you have the new or old one is: the new TM7 does not have the price of the extension written on the back area to the right of where you stick your photo.

thank you! So the documents are birth certificate, marriage certificate and marriage book. Do you know about these? Or maybe I should just go and ask them.

I would go and ask your particular immigration office because with over 70 offices in the country there's no real way of knowing what they're going to say..
