Hi and thank you for your helpful advice.
I would like to share my current plan regarding Thai visa and ask for advice.
I've been living in Chiang Mai for a year and a half already, starting on a single entry tourist visa on arrival, then on an application single entry tourist visa and then on a 1 year education visa and now on a single entry tourist visa again.
I registered marriage with a Thai December 26 2019. I just started accumulating the 400,000 THB that I was told is required for the extension based on marriage. That could take several months. I have a Thai savings account in my name.
I have a visa trip to Hanoi planned near the end of my current extension, departing February 5th and returning to Chiang Mai February 8th.
And I have a trip planned to Israel February 29th (third elections within a year, if you haven't heard).
Question 1: since it could take me several months to accumulate the 400,000 THB that I was told necessary and since I understand that from that point in time the account must not drop below that amount for 2 months, I figure it would be wrong to apply for a non-immigrant visa on my February 5th Hanoi visa trip. Is this correct, please?
Question 2: since I plan to return from a trip to Israel March 3rd — less than a month after I plan to have my first entry stamp for the next visa — should my upcoming application in Hanoi be for a multiple-entry tourist visa, perhaps? I don't think I ever applied for a multiple entry tourist visa. The requirements seem to be greater.
Question 3: Is there anything else I might be missing, please?
Thank you for reading.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on their Thai visa situation, having previously lived in Chiang Mai on various tourist and education visas. They mention being married to a Thai national and accumulating funds for a marriage-based visa extension. The user is unsure whether to apply for a Non-O visa during an upcoming trip to Hanoi or to consider a multiple-entry tourist visa given their subsequent trip to Israel. Comments suggest applying for a Non-O visa at a Thai consulate in Vietnam instead, as applying in Hanoi may not be feasible and emphasize verifying all necessary documentation.
