What should I know about applying for a Thai visa while planning trips to Hanoi and Israel?

Hi and thank you for your helpful advice.

I would like to share my current plan regarding Thai visa and ask for advice.

I've been living in Chiang Mai for a year and a half already, starting on a single entry tourist visa on arrival, then on an application single entry tourist visa and then on a 1 year education visa and now on a single entry tourist visa again.

I registered marriage with a Thai December 26 2019. I just started accumulating the 400,000 THB that I was told is required for the extension based on marriage. That could take several months. I have a Thai savings account in my name.

I have a visa trip to Hanoi planned near the end of my current extension, departing February 5th and returning to Chiang Mai February 8th.

And I have a trip planned to Israel February 29th (third elections within a year, if you haven't heard).

Question 1: since it could take me several months to accumulate the 400,000 THB that I was told necessary and since I understand that from that point in time the account must not drop below that amount for 2 months, I figure it would be wrong to apply for a non-immigrant visa on my February 5th Hanoi visa trip. Is this correct, please?

Question 2: since I plan to return from a trip to Israel March 3rd — less than a month after I plan to have my first entry stamp for the next visa — should my upcoming application in Hanoi be for a multiple-entry tourist visa, perhaps? I don't think I ever applied for a multiple entry tourist visa. The requirements seem to be greater.

Question 3: Is there anything else I might be missing, please?

Thank you for reading.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on their Thai visa situation, having previously lived in Chiang Mai on various tourist and education visas. They mention being married to a Thai national and accumulating funds for a marriage-based visa extension. The user is unsure whether to apply for a Non-O visa during an upcoming trip to Hanoi or to consider a multiple-entry tourist visa given their subsequent trip to Israel. Comments suggest applying for a Non-O visa at a Thai consulate in Vietnam instead, as applying in Hanoi may not be feasible and emphasize verifying all necessary documentation.

. I read some posts and changed my plans to Ho Chi Minh City together with my Wife, to apply for the non-immigrant visa.

My trip to Israel is too short for applying. Yes. It really is.

wise decision. Just read the posts of others who have gone to HCMC ...do exactly as per requirements...you will get your visa.

i would say do not apply for the non immigrant o visa in hanoi if you only stay less then 1 month in Thailand. Get all the documents and apply in Tel Aviv before you come back to Thailand.

Just to make sure, "registered marriage" means you got the rose border certificate saying you're married, right?

Yes. Prettiest certificate I ever had. Came with a warning that replacements would not be provided...

Read TOPIC ...NON O MARRIED TO THAI as there are many posts which will help you.

Make sure you have each requirement for the visa. Many others have gotten it issued if you submit what is needed

is expert on this Non O Married to Thai Visa. Read his postings about it.

Lets ask Robert if their is any problem with an Israeli obtaining this Non O visa from either HCMC or Savannakhet?
James ********
Forget the Hanoi trip...

As you are now married...go to Savannakhet or Ho Chi Minh City HCMC ...and obtain a one year Non O Married to a Thai Visa. No proof of finances is required at these two Thai Consulates.

Hanoi does not issue a METV. Only available in your home country.

Its issued my Hanoi only to those who have residence in Vietnam.
