TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users have successfully ordered from Amazon.com to Thailand by updating their mailing address to a Thai one. Shipping costs typically include estimated import taxes and VAT, and refunds may occur if actual taxes are lower. Delivery times vary, with some noting long waits if shipped via regular postal services. Using correct Thai addresses and phone numbers can facilitate quicker deliveries, and some recommend using forwarding services for consolidating shipments.

Using the correct Thai address (in English) and including a Thai phone number in case of issues, Amazon orders arrive in Thailand in about 5-7 days with little difficulty.

If an item is not available for international shipping I use usa2me dot com to receive on my behalf, consolidate items, remove all unnecessary weight and ship FedEx to me in Thailand (about 5-7 days).

Of course items ordered on Amazon in America arrive to my American address in 3 hours up to 3 days.

I had a credit card sent to my home address via fedex. The address got goofed and the driver would not have been able to find my condo. I waited like 6 weeks, nobody called, nobody e.mailed or text. Eventually I was able to track the package to the local warehouse and they were able to change the address, card was delivered next day. My experience in the US, its a real pain to get a package if the address is wrong so I was surprised they allowed me to change the address. Thailand address are difficult for Americans.

Moral of the story make sure you will have the tracking number.

I from Amazon UK. Took about 2 months but came through the post office so no fees or DHL, FedEx scams.

Man, if Shoppee would only start allowing foreigners to pay for goods and drop ship them to their g/f or b/f they would make a mint.

Yes. The price you’ll pay for shipping includes the max estimate for inbound taxes and VAT. If upon arrival the items import tax is less than what you paid Amazon will refund the difference.

usually the delivery driver will call you first to say they’re on the way. You can advise where to put it if not home.

No they probably won’t call a US number to deliver to a house in Thailand.

yes, customs can be a nightmare, and not only the fee. I had a friend who ordered a bathroom scale from Amazon and customs told him it was classified as a “medical device” and he needed an import license for it.

Some items are super high import... some not so bad.... almost always get a refund on import fees a month or so later.

All part of the pre paid shipping cost for Amazon. I agree that in other circumstances customs can be an issue but whatever agreement Amazon has with the government it works out fees prior and refunds you if they’re not as bad as expected.

I have. Update your mailing address to your Thai address and when you search for something it will tell you it’s only showing items that they will ship here.
