TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can order items from Thai online shopping sites like Lazada or Shopee while in the UK and have them delivered to an address in Thailand. Users have confirmed that they have successfully used these platforms for such orders, even paying with UK bank cards. There are generally no significant duties or issues with the delivery process, making it a viable option for expats.

No problem if your worried about additional charges just sign up for an account on either website send the cash via wise to the recipient and just get the recipient to pay for the goods on arrival ….Easy

Mark, I do all the time to the hotel are usually staying in Thailand couple weeks before I travel so when I get here, it is already waiting for me. I pay for it with my UK bank card. I’ve probably had over 20 items order delivered. No problem. I hope this helps 👍

You want to order something and have it shipped to a address in Thailand?

No problem, the website doesn't care where you are, just where you're sending things.

Basically my friend lives in Thailand. Occasionally I would like to order her things and have them sent to her house I would like to use shoppee or Lazada but wondered if there would be a problem using my UK debit card to buy as I am in the UK but using a Thai shopping site I hope I've explained it properly

It''s the same thing if you were to take a flight somewhere and not have your laptop in your carry-on bag. That's what ruins your device almost immediately, if not the first time. So if you want to send anything with a built-in lithium battery .... The way I do it is, if I can't wait to collect it the next time I visit my country or wherever I need it from, if your friend has been here long enough, for sure he has a friend returning to Thailand in your country very soon and can take it here for him, for you.

might get flagged by your bank as potential fraud and declined but a quick call would fix it and the transaction would go through after you called your bank. It won't be an issue you just might have to jump through a couple of hoops

you need to make sure you label the items list on the exterior of the box correctly. If they are items that are supposed to be taxed, like electronics, customs will confiscate it. You need to list items such as toiletries, clothes, baby toys.... Innocent things that don't require taxation when crossing the border.

And this is very important.... Do not send anything with a lithium battery built in. The pressure in the cabin, in the under part of the planes it's shipped in, will ruin those devices before they arrive to your friend. It happened to me a few times before I finally realized what was actually going on

Lazada is easy enough. Iirc Shoppee seemed to require the payment card be attached to a Thai address. Was a while back I tried it so can't remember the full specifics

@Mark ******
you just may have to go to the post office and pay tax on it when it arrives, which can be quite expensive

think your missing the point (or I am), the OP is in the uk and ordering in Thailand for delivery in Thailand so no tax.

why does he need to do that if ordering from Lazada and being delivered to Thailand?

Should be no issues.
