TLDR : Answer Summary
The cost of sending a parcel from the USA to Thailand varies significantly based on weight, size, and the chosen courier service. USPS is commonly recommended for its affordability and reliability; for example, shipping costs can range from $8 to $10 per pound, totaling between $35 and $125 for larger packages. Import taxes can be minimized by declaring the item value as under $20. Alternatives include FedEx and UPS, but they tend to be more expensive and may incur higher customs duties. Tips for successful shipping include using plain boxes, avoiding product tags, and opting for services like EMS for better rates.

I sent a book from the Us, Missouri last year, less than a pound 40$. No cheap way that I know of. It took two and one half weeks. You also have to declare what’s in it. If I hadn’t already spent money on the book and packaged it as light as possible, I would not have sent it.

I ship regularly from Oregon to my condo in Bangkok …. Be sure not to value the package over $20 US or the taxes in Thailand will be huge … I ship via Fed Ex (cheaper) and a 2 lb box costs about $135 to ship

The USPS website has international rates on it, as does the other mailing companies.

I know that sending a parcel from Thailand to Australia by DHL works about to be double the price of the article plus around 10%

I have sent so many boxes to my wife. Last sent 2 weeks ago was 2 boxes total of 62 pounds it was all food stuff since I'll be there awhile and can't can't these items there. Anyway it was $358 for both and it took 11 days to get there. No one has ever opened any box I have sent and I send them USPS.

Use USPS priority mail. Between $35 and $125, depends on size and weight. Takes around 10 days to two weeks.

Cards send by Registered US Mail. Delivery time from US to here around 14 to 16 days. But safe and inexpensive. FedEx okay but UPS is a crap shoot and expensive. Priority Mail from USPS okays too for packages. But duty maybe applied so yes remove any price tags and declare unit cost smaller. Applying insurance on shipment will be met with duty charges...

if you are sending a new item make sure you remove any tags. We have found it is around $8.00 to $10.00 a pound. Also do not use the USPS boxes, a plain brown will not draw attention to the package.. Things are really slow in sending.. Sent a card and it took 2 months..

I just received products from Amazon/USA, two packages. Each about pound (lb), $40 in shipping and import tax.

Previously

I friend ship me a Mac Book, declared value $100, shipped FedEx (I think). Got to me quickly, less than a week. I had to pay $60 duties (that's 60%)

My sister once sent me a credit card, USPS, never arrived. There was no malicious activity.. I think it just got lost.

Credit card companies now send me cards direct, FedEx/UPS, arrive in about a week, no issues.

I think one thing to be sure about is "signature required"

I dont know if any of my packages were opened. I kinda doubt it because they appeared seal.

I did this recently. Don't use FedEx or UPS or any of the big ones, use USPS. Also declare the package as used items, declare a value of under $20 and put in a thai friends name if possible. I did this and my package was delivered straight to my door with zero taxes of any kind. Also Thailand post and USPS work together so your tracking number will work on both the thai post website and the USPS website. You'll get more accurate tracking when you track it on the USPS site when in the states and then switching to the thai post site once it gets to Thailand.

Kev El Chino Isaac. There's a range of different stories varying from complete non-delivery to excellent fast delivery. It seems to be luck of the draw. My philosophy is if it's not that important don't send it
