It was issued in korat... now i dont live there and haven't been living there for almost about 1 year. My new address is in chaing rai, i have been doing all of my 90 day reports here in chaing rai under my new address,
i would like to renew for another 1 year .
..immigration said that, in order for me to renew for another year, i need to cancel my non r from korat make it predated to the 25th of nov. and submit all supporting documentation from the New temple of residence by the 11th so chaing rai can issue a new non r according to the new address i live... is that right? Im confused to the max... i mean they know i live here i been doing all my check ups here in chaing rai, never in korat.... i dont want to have to leave thailand as thats a scary choice and might not be let back in!?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on renewing their Non-R religious visa, which was issued in Korat but they now reside in Chiang Rai. They have been doing their 90-day reports at their new address and have been informed by immigration that they need to cancel their current Non-R visa first, using documentation from the new temple, and then apply for a new Non-R visa at the Chiang Rai immigration office. Comments suggest this is a standard procedure when changing residence associated with the visa sponsorship.

I don't see the reason to be scared or think you might have to leave the country. It doesn't seem that the immigration office put that nonsense in your head. They told you exactly what to do, cancel the extension you're currently on at the immigration office that issued it, then apply for a new Non-R visa at the new immigration office with documentation from the new temple you're at. Sounds pretty straight forward to me
Think of the Non-R visa/extension like an employment visa/extension
you need to cancel this current extension you're on AT the immigration office you used to get the extension using documentation from the temple that sponsored you for the extension,
THEN high tail it to the Chiang Rai immigration office and apply for a new Non-R visa using documentation from the new temple AND making sure you have enough time left on the stamps so you can get thru the under consideration period.
By rights as soon as the reason for your Non-R/extension changed (as in you weren't at the temple that sponsored you for the extension) you should have cancelled it right then and started the process over again at the new place you were.
