How do I apply for DTV for my family members after I got my DTV in Thailand?

Hi, I just got my DTV, that I applied for when I was in Spain last month, but was granted when I arrived back in the island.

I understand I need to go to a Visa run to stamp it.

My question is: how to apply for the DTV3 for my family? I asked the Spanish Embassy, but if we are not in Spain anymore, they can't help. I also talked with visa agents and the immigration office and they don't have it clear.

Any ideas?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) received their DTV visa in Thailand after applying while in Spain. They were advised to complete a visa run to activate their DTV. However, they inquired about applying for DTV visas for their family. A community member clarified that to obtain dependent DTV visas for family members, the OP must go to a Thai consulate in a nearby country, apply online, and submit their DTV PDF as proof. It was noted that the OP should have remained in Spain until the DTV was approved to avoid complications with the application process.

So our Members know...

What the OP did was WRONG.

You are to STAY in the country where you apply for the DTV visa until it's approved or not.

She could have been asked, as we have seen before, by the Thai Embassy in Spain... and others...

...for an in person interview,

...additional requirements,

...or a copy of each page of your passport...

Which you couldn't do, if you left the country.

Then she could have applied for the dependent family members DTV Visas.

STAY IN THE COUNTRY WHERE YOU SUBMIT YOUR DTV APPLICATION !

I understand. Now it’s too late, I’m guessing the person who attended me wasn’t well informed, neither was I. So what to do now? Can I apply for the dtv3 from another embassy?

What do you mean? I didn’t pay taxes until now, if you mean that with the breaks.

Where can I find out more info, about the rights and duties, you know?

Awesome! Completely understood! Thank you so much!

Another question: what about taxing report and medical services? Do we get some obligations and rights with it?

@Diana ******
wrong group for that,

suffice to say you get no breaks on any of that stuff holding a DTV

as long as you have the PDF print out of it you can exit/re-enter and get 180 day entry stamp from it

The only thing is if you want to get DTV's for your children you and the children have to go to a nearby country's thai consulate and apply online thru the eVisa system while you're in that country and you have to remain in that country until the visas are approved or denied.

Because they're just dependent DTV's <- meaning they are using your DTV and your proof of funds to get the other visas they should be approve fairly quickly IF you upload the correct documentation, etc, when you apply in what ever country you go to for them.

You shouldn't have any issue at all. Just pick a country, go there and apply

There's no way to apply for or get DTV's for the children without ALL of you going to the country you're applying in.

You upload proof that you're in that country when you apply

Just taking the passports without the kids isn't gonna work because you can't get passports stamped in without the people whose own those passports being there

To activate your DTV you need to exit/re-enter thailand, showing the PDF print out they emailed you <- that is your visa. You'll get stamped in for 180 days

Now, how do you get DTV's for your dependent family members?

You and your family GO to a thai consulate in a nearby country,

You apply online thru the thai consulate IN that country,

You upload your DTV pdf file to show that you have a DTV and are using that to get the "dependent" DTV's for your family.

Then you wait IN that country until their DTV's are approved

So pick a thai consulate in another country and go apply with everyone 🙂

Thank you, Tod, if I apply online, why we need to be there? Because we want to use it to enter Thailand with it?

Can we apply for it online and then exit and re-enter? How long can it take? Do you know? The kids are in school and it’s exams time soon…

For them I also need to show a proof of my bank statement?

And when they ask about where do we live, does it need to be the hotel or wherever where we will be staying or our TM30 in Thailand?

Thank you because now it’s getting more clear. 🙏🏼☺️

@Diana ******
You have to bounce out/back to ACTIVATE the entry on your DTV

And you can't be IN thailand to apply for a visa online,

So pick a country, take the kids, GO there, apply online <- upload the proof you're in that country, (visa/entry stamps), the support documentation, then WAIT in that country until the DTV's are approved.

That's how it works,

you want DTV visas for the kids you & the kids go to a thai consulate in another country and apply for them 🙂
