Hey guys,

I am planning to apply for non o marriage in May. For that i opened a bank account on my name on the 18.03, so I can get the bank statement for the 400k on the 18.05.

I am currently on visit family visa till 24.05.

Due to the current situation I want to apply for the visa in Koh Samui. Anyone done that before? I read it can take time to process the application and I am a bit worried that I might not have enough time...

Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster plans to apply for a Non-O Marriage visa in May and is concerned about the timing and application process in Koh Samui, as their current family visa expires soon. Community members provided insights on the application process, the requirement for funds to be in the bank for two months, and suggested visiting the local immigration office for guidance.

Go at the end of this month to your local Immigration office and ask if they can do what you like and take the hand out with requirements, they will tell you when to come back to make the application

You need to apply at least 2 weeks prior to the end of your current admitted to stay date.

However by the looks the funds won’t have been in the bank for the needed amount of time.

Take a visit to immigration.

Get the hand out and have a word with them.

For the conversion of a Tourist Visa or Visa Exempt Entry there is no requirement that funds has to be in the bank for a minimum time

And for the Extension of Stay where funds need to be in the bank for 2 months, you do not need 2 weeks prior the end of your current stay,

A Mix up of requirements of two total different things.

I don’t think you have choice of where you apply.

I believe you get allocated the nearest office.

Where I live they opened a new office nearer to me and I asked if I could swap, they said no.

Call them and do you know other requirements for visa IE

proof of address (must be official)

Id card of landlord/lady

Photos of you and wife at address.

Map of address

Also spouse visas need to be picked up about a month after application.

Retirement visas they make in house and stamp in the day.

Spruce ones get sent to bkk.
