I’ve just got my first Covid extension in Koh phangan’s new immigration office.

Everything is so easy.

The notification of residence if a document that my hotel printed out from the immigration website.

I got my 60 days extension from the day my other extension expires. They are so efficient that I got everything done within 20 minutes. The copy shop also makes photos/pictures if needed for 150 bahts. Photocopies cost 25 bahts.

However, 90 day report is compulsory even for tourists.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully obtained their first Covid extension at the new immigration office in Koh Phangan, reporting an efficient process that took only 20 minutes. They highlighted that a notification of residence is required, which is provided by hotels. The user emphasized that while they received a 60-day extension, a 90-day report remains mandatory for tourists and is a separate requirement from the extension.

AS A REMINDER:

An extension of stay, and a 90 day report, are two separate documents.

A 90 day report is submitted every 90 days when you are physically in Thailand. You can submit these reports, in person, between 15 days before the due date to 7 days after the due date without paying a fine.

An extension of stay extends the amount of time you are in Thailand. You can submit a new extension of stay 30 days (45 days at some immigration offices) before the existing extension of stay is expired.

There is NO such thing as a "60 day report", and the 90 day report does not reset when you get a new extension of stay.

Theoretically you are right but I read reports of KP Immigration to have set the next 90 day reporting date on the paper stapled into the passport as the same as the "admitted until" date of the extension which then comes to 60 days instead of 90.

right, that is a common thing now when you're on extensions that don't run the 90 days. I saw a few in Bangkok that way too,
