Hello everybody,

Has anyone recently (less than a month ago) applied for a second ED visa (back-to-back, but for a different language), and to whom could I ask a few questions?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about applying for a second Education (ED) visa in Thailand for a different language course. They received responses discussing the importance of the school's approval for the course, the challenges around obtaining back-to-back ED visas, and various opinions on how Thai consulates may process these applications. Other comments highlighted recent refusals for similar visa requests, suggesting that the process has become increasingly scrutinized. Overall, there's a shared sentiment among respondents regarding the rising difficulties in obtaining consecutive ED visas.

And as the OP seeks another Ed Visa...we wish him Good Luck. The days of living back to back on any visa possible ...including Ed Visas... appears to be seriously questioned by Thai Immigration and Consulates alike.

Last night a link got posted about a topic, ED visa application denied as the Consulate did not accept that a person who only studied 8 months of basic Thai is going to use this basic Thai to attend classes and learn another foreign language. And an old topic jumps up with the question where can I get the visa to do this. Good luck

Depends on the Thai consulate, some will directly say no when you apply, others hand back the passport and some documents the next day without visa. And some consulates split up the work load where one person is stamping the passport and another one checking all documents, in that case you can have the visa inside with the text Void without prejudice.

Will I get a red stamp or something similar if my ED visa application get denied?

There was a recent post of one who already had completed Ed Visa in Thai...was refused Ed visa in Chinese.

Back to back Ed visas are getting difficult to obtain.

When did you get your first Ed Visa? Where did you get it? For Thai language?

How long have you been in Thailand in 2018 - 2019?

What other stamps might appear in your passport?

Hi James. For some reason I did not saw your message before. I'm not sure yet where to go. My school says they don't know where I should go. So far I've paid half of the tuition fees and they say that if I don't get the visa then the tuition fees will be full reimburse.

I got my 1st ED visa (for Thai language about 8 months ago). I was curious about the 'best' embassy and also what are the proof of finance to show. I've heard 20.000THB and 2.000$ (100.000THB).

you may ask your school if they are going to provide a language course of your choice which is listed at the Ministry of Education and allowed to provide the documents to apply for a new Non Immigrant ED Visa. Next to this you have to decide that you can live inside Thailand, paying all your bills from your live savings.

The difference is just the official name and a name for people who like to use short cuts

I already started the process to enroll for a language course different that the one I previously studied (it's also another Language school). Can you enlighten me about the difference with ED and non immigrant ED visa? I currently hold an ED visa. I've enough saving to support myself.

What is your nationality and where did you get your first ED visa from?
