If travelling to Australia ONLY

Going to Australia embassy for a letter for you to have your visa extended for after the 26th September do not waste your time going there asking for a letter.

They will tell you they don’t deal with that and to please contact the Embassy via the email.

They may do many things there I’m sure but supporting people for letters is not one of them.

Congrats @Steve Lok! On your application, what did you write down as your reason for extension request? Were you asked any questions or just paid and had your photo taken?

Thanks! Was there any specific documents you needed aside from embassy letter? I thought only long-stayers needed residency papers and lease agreements, etc.?

I saw AUS was issuing letters. Based on the following criteria;

“Given how difficult it is to secure a flight to Australia, the Embassy has decided to assist in issuing letters to support people applying to extend their Thai visas. It is not the role of the Australian Government to be saying who should or shouldn’t stay in Thailand, that’s up to Thai Immigration; however, given Thai officials are reluctant to make these decisions without our involvement, we have decided to issue the letters for two categories of Australians:

1. If you are transitioning from a short term tourist visa to a long term visa, Thai Immigration generally want a letter from us to allow you to do so. We are happy to do so as long as you can show us evidence that you’ve applied for a long term visa; or

2. If you have had flights booked and cancelled, your next flight is after 26 September and you can show us evidence of this, we will also provide you with a letter to support your visa extension.

If you meet one of these categories please email
****************************
, provide us with the evidence requested above and a copy of your Australian passport details page.”

thank you. You asked the OP who got a visa extension off of amnesty using a letter from his embassy. I fail to see any relevance to the fact that you are on a Non OA visa and you require medical insurance to extend yours. If you want to ask the members here about the best/cheapest insurance then ask in your own thread. There’s little point in asking such in a thread that has no relevance to insurance required when in their case there is none.

unless you are on a Non OA visa / extension then there is no requirement for mandatory health insurance.

. Theres a specific email link on their website you need to use to get the letter. Just sending them a generic email wont work You also need to send a photo of your passport data page with the request via that link.

The letter they send you is in pdf form which you.print and use at immigration
