Good Morning,
I’m from the UK, staying in Loei, and normally over here visa exempt, but this time I’m on a non-immigrant O as I arrived in November. Previously when, visa exempt, I’ve either got got an extension and/ or left the country and therefore been able to stay longer.
I’m toying with the idea of staying longer and was wondering if anyone had any experience of getting this visa extended or a new one in Loei recently? Presumably it’s a trip to Chiang Khan. I’ve googled it, but as usual, no single source of truth as there’s conflicting info.
My circle of friends are either on the marriage or retirement route so can’t really help.
I’m only looking at another month. I dont have a Thai bank account and my wife and son both usually live with me in the UK.
Anyone done this recently and could talk me through the process?
TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK expatriate currently on a non-immigrant O visa in Loei seeks advice on extending their stay. While they have experience with visa exemptions and extensions, they are unsure about extending their current visa type and have reached out for recent experiences and guidance. A comment suggests that an O visa can be extended up to a year, requiring financial proof, and informs that if the person's Thai wife accompanies them, they might apply for a 'visit family' extension for 60 days.
