How can I renew my Thai driver's license in Phuket without a Thai ID?

Hello, does anyone know how you can get a Thai drivers licence renewed?

I heard they introduced an online booking system, but I can't use it because it wants a Thai ID.

In Phuket - does anyone have experience of the DLT here? Can I just turn up like I did when I got my licence a few years ago?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew a Thai driver's license in Phuket, you can visit the local DLT office with your old driver's card, a medical certificate, and your passport. It's recommended to go early in the morning, as the renewal process usually takes about half a day. There's no need for an appointment, and the process is generally straightforward for foreigners.

I don't think they are requiring foreigners to make an appointment, since you can't. DLT is pretty straight forward and helpful, much different from immigration offices.
