TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the renewal process for an expired Thai driving license, which expired on December 12, 2020. Community members confirm that it can be renewed up to one year after expiration without fines, but after that period, the holder must start over with all tests, including a driving test. It was also noted that renewing a license in Bangkok may require an appointment with a wait time of around three months, and additional requirements such as eye tests and a declaration from Immigration may apply.
Just did mine 6 months late. Or if you wait for 12months you re test. You also have to do all the eye tests and go sit through a 1 hour video that you have to book in advance costs 200bt you need that for the application to renew and I had to get a declaration from Immigration to say I lived where I live. All got more complicated than last time.
