Hello, I've heard it's possible to get an additional 1 week on top of the 30 day extension if you show proof of flights - anyone know how to do this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about obtaining an additional week on top of their 30-day visa extension by showing proof of flights. In the comments, another user clarifies that this is not a true extension but an 'application for extension not approved' stamp, which grants an additional 7 days to leave the country. To obtain this, one must apply for an extension at the immigration office after their initial extension, which will be denied, allowing them to purchase the additional week for 1900 baht.

It's actually not an extension but an "application for extension not approved" stamp that gives you 7 days to get out of the country from the date it's issued (and it starts the day you apply for it). It cost the same as a 'regular' extension 1900baht

I don't know that you need to prove you have a flight out to get it issued but couldn't hurt.

Go to your immigration office and apply for an extension after you already got the one 30 day extension, it will be denied and they will sell you a 7 day get out of dodge stamp

what is your take about future applications/entries in Thailand and elsewhere when having this stamp ?

shouldn't really affect you at all, it's not a black mark on your passport and I know people who come from Visa On Arrival countries (the people that BUY 15 day VOA when they show up for 2000baht) who get those 7 day stamps almost every time they're here. They seem to enter/exit without issue

SOME land borders give people on those stamps a hard time if you're bouncing out and back but other than that, no that stamp is fine and WAY better than an overstay stamp
