Hi all. Does a person need a medical check if they are getting a NON B for a work permit NOT for teaching. A quick answer will be much appreciated. I don't want to pay yet another 1000 thb for a medical after I had 1 less than 2 months ago.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A medical check is generally not required for obtaining a NON-B visa for employment, especially for positions that are not teaching. However, requirements may vary based on the employer's status; if the work permit is processed through certain channels (like MOL or One-Stop Service Centers not classified under BOI/IEAT), a medical certificate might be needed upon work permit renewal. Many clinics offer medical certificates for affordable prices, typically around 50 to 100 THB.
Depends on your employer's status. If you get your work permit at MOL, or if your employer processes work permits at the One-Stop Service Center but is not BOI/IEAT, then you need a medical certificate for each work permit renewal. For BOI/IEAT companies, no medical certificate is required, even on first application. You can get a medical certificate for 500 THB at most clinics and hospitals.
