TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the complexities surrounding obtaining a B visa for business purposes in Thailand. A user queries whether their friend's small food shop can provide them with a B visa. Responses clarify that a small business may not meet the necessary requirements to sponsor a B visa without sufficient capitalization and employed Thai staff. They suggest alternatives, such as entering Thailand on a tourist visa, forming a partnership, and then applying for a B visa through the appropriate channels. The conversation highlights misunderstandings about the visa process and emphasizes the need to comply with immigration regulations.

doesn't your friends small business provide him with a visa? If so his company cannot provide you with one - unless he increases the capitalisation of his company. But then he will need to employ additional Thai staff.

Sort of. You come to Thailand, set up a business, your Thai business partner apply for the work permit and after that you can apply for a Non Immigrant B visa.

You set up the business with your Thai partners, they apply for the work permit and with paper from company and Ministry of Labor you apply for the Non Immigrant B visa. You can set up a company with Thai partners on any allowed stay inside Thailand.
