I’m going back to the uk for 12 days to tie up a few loose ends and hoping to get a business visa while I’m there in order to start a company in Thailand and eventually work for myself in real estate, and get a work permit. Through this forum I’ve seen many conflicting thoughts on this,so I’m asking a simple question.
Can I get a 1 year business visa in the uk to come to Thailand and start a business and when the time is right apply for a work permit so I can work?
Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is looking to acquire a 1-year business visa to come to Thailand and start a business while visiting the UK. There's conflicting information in the community about the feasibility of obtaining this visa and the necessary documentation required, such as having an already formed company or company job offer. It's noted that some Thai consulates may only issue shorter visas now, and using a visa agent can streamline the process. Furthermore, budgeting for documentation and understanding the proper sequence in visa applications is advised.
There are also companies who for a fee will provide you sponsorship paperwork to go to a thai consulate in your country and apply for a year-long, multi-entry Non-B visa (the kind where you exit/re-enter the country every 90 days for the whole year).
Now more and more thai consulates in the west are not issuing year-long, multi-entry Non-B's anymore and instead just doing a 90 day single entry.
As surprising as it may seem, starting the business on a tourist visa is more common with the extensive aid of an Accountant who has a working relationship with a lawyer (for certain documentation). Then it is common to hire a visa agent to apply for your Work Permit and B Visa. These two credentials are intertwined and the applications must be done in proper sequence. I suggest budgeting from 45 to 65 thousand baht for the process. This can be done a bit differently and a bit cheaper but for newbies - I recommend my way.
I believe you would need the supporting documents of an already formed company or the supporting documents of a company job offer before you could get any B visa.
