Good Morning All. I need some advice to obtain a Non-0 Visa (Multiple Entry). I am currently on a 2 month extension based on visiting Thai Family. Expires 24 May. I currently travel between China and Thailand each year, so ideally this would be my preferred visa. Can you provide me some advice and the process to get this visa ? What are the documents required ? Which consulate I need to travel to ? Would I need to obtain a non-0 (single entry) first ? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on obtaining a Non-O Visa (Multiple Entry) while currently on a 2-month extension based on family visits. They need information about the document requirements, which consulate to visit, and whether a Non-O (Single Entry) is needed first. Comments indicate challenges due to consulates being closed and COVID-19 restrictions affecting entry into Thailand.

Thanks Tod. Do you know if I am able to get the Multi entry non -0 type visa with only having a COPY of my marriage certificate (The original I left in China). In Thailand, I have with me the originals for the birth certificates of my kids only.

For the 100k, if can accept in different currency i.e Regular monthly Income from my Chinese Bank over the last6 months, then I can meet that but if not then apply for the single entry ?

Thanks for the info Tod, I checked on the Vientiane consulate website and says that funds only required for the multiple entry visa (100,000k). Has this changed ? Also, can you show proof of funds from another currency,? as my salary gets paid into my Chinese bank account, and its not 200k bath

No, a copy of your marriage certificate will not be accepted to get the multiple entry non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national. I believe you can get another original (or equivalent) marriage certificate at your local Amphur office.

If you cannot get that visa based on marriage without original marriage documents (I guess it's mostly the case), you still may apply Non-O multiple based on half Thai child... Once Penang opens. You need proof of funds, too.

the place that most people USED to go to get the year long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai is the thai consulates in either Savannakhet Lao or Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.

All you can do is keep an eye on the news for when the borders re-open, what if any entry requirements are put in place and when the consulates re-open too

those two consulates would issue year long, multi-entry Non-O visas without the need to show proof of funds in your bank account and with minimal documentation.

most all the thai consulates are closed now, so you're not gonna get any Non-O at the moment. AND even if you were able to leave thailand to go get the Non-O visa you couldn't get back IN to thailand because of the "no foreign entry" policy that's in effect until at least May 31st if not longer
