TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expatriates express frustration regarding the difficulties of obtaining visas for their Thai partners to travel to countries like the USA and the UK. While some share success stories of navigating the visa processes with the help of reputable agents or legal counsel, others highlight the challenges posed by the weak Thai passport and high application fees. The conversation reveals varied experiences and suggests seeking professional advice when necessary.

It's a problem. The USA embassy robs people of high fees, forces travel to BKK for rejections and steal their money. It's just gross

isn't they Fee is non refundable? I do not think if any embassy offers refundable visa fee in case of rejection
Todd *********
@Kamran ********
yes, non-refundable. High cost. And no reasons given for rejection

Your experience puts all the complaints about Thai visas into perspective.

I hired an attorney. They had my Thai wife in the US within 4 months time. If interested they have offices all over Thailand. The agency is called TSL & associates.

GF now wife has been to UK 7 times on a six month tourist visa over the last ten years and now on a spouse visa which I've done all myself without help from an agent. It's an easy process but if you're unsure use a reputable agent in Pattaya. I think average cost of an agent about 30,000 baht?

Same in UK. Seems Thailand welcomes people but USA and UK not so much.

@Lynnette ******
by the sounds of it Thailand seems to allow too many people of the wrong type and are lowering its desirability for others.

@Herbert *****

There have been numerous posts from people who've had issues with getting visas. But oh yes, blame the applicant for UK immigration policy. The arrogance you show, how British.

@Lynnette ******
I’ve done 6 tourist visas in 6 years and never had a problem with 1. There must be a good reason if someone doesn’t get one.
